Over the edge...

  1. Dale:

Wow! Now, THEM are some FINE pictures!

The snow melts fairly quickly here, in S. Calif., so you seem to do better there. We just drink it all, in the end.

  3. Morning Dale, I got tagged what does it mean? Erm I tegged Val afterwards but I dont know what it means :)

  4. Stunning photos Dale. Is that you at the front of the goup? Big grin and all..lol. You are having a wonderful skiing year aren't you?

We continue to have violent winds and rain over here. I would give a lot for a calm, still day. I think I'd even rather have snow than this, and that's saying something for me ;-) Roll on the Spring!

  5. you and your damn love of snow...
Chantal, I put some info on the tag thing on your blog!

  6. Dan - snow in southern California sounds like an oxymoron to me!

Chick - I'll be right over. The concert I went to in Calgary was amazing...2nd row centre.

Chantal - I, too, put info on your blog regarding being tagged. We have no venomous creatures to speak of...just grizzly bears, but I have yet to run into one of those - and I plan to keep it that way. Although I have come across a cougar while we were out mountain biking one evening...

Val - that's a pic of my good friend Jasmine and her husband George in the foreground. My George is in the background on the left and Brooke is the one fiddling with his goggles. I'm behind the camera in this one. The bottom photo is of my friend Edie - last in line to jump into the run called Whitetail...named after the deer.

Stevie - I, too, am looking forward to Spring...skiing.

  7. Did I mention that the jump into Whitetail is off that ledge behind the skiers in the top photo?

  11. I skied today in the sunshine and 10 degrees ABOVE zero...celcius, that is.

    It doesn't get much better!

  13. That first photo feels like you are at the top of the world, and you can look down on the humanity like gods themselves! Must say I'm a bit envious of you. Why does it have to be so flat where I live??

  14. How was the skiing today then?

Do you put aside all other pursuits when there is skiing to be had?

  15. Wow! Really great photos!

You know, I remember those trees being a lot taller before...........ten feet of snow!!

This must be a year for the record books - both for amount of snow at Panorama (and in the Valley) and for how many times you've been out skiing!!

Plus 10 sounds great. Should be that here this weekend! Melty melty. I love it!

  16. AM - I heard it was cold down East...

Maria - I chose to live here simply because of the mountains and the lifestyle they have to offer!

Val - good question...it's tough juggling my busy schedule even at the least busy of times...in the winter I have to plan ahead, rise early in the morning and get lots done within a small window of time in order to spend a day on the slopes. That can be hectic in itself! My blogging suffers as a result.

Rachel - the snow has been amazing this year. Right now it's melting in rivers! The roads are a mess and so is my van...

  17. Is that that mythical thing they call snow? We used to get lots around here, but the midwest stole it all this year. We're much smaller mountains that in your neck of the woods, so rarely do we get huge dumpings. This year sucked though - not even enough to slide down the hill :(
