Val!
My copy arrived in the post!
I am now the proud bearer of your esteemed autograph.
Oh, and not to mention, the owner of your brand new book...
Water Ways is now resting upon my bedstand - beckoning.
I cannot wait to delve into those pages and drift into your life on the canals.
But not until I wipe away the tears...
Thank You
Awwwwww....I'm sooooooo relieved and happy that it has finally arrived. I was getting seriously worried that it had met its fate at the bottom of the sack of lonely and discarded mail that lies lonely and unloved in the corner of every sorting office in the world.
ReplyDeleteI so hope you enjoy reading it my friend xxx
PS Four weeks is more like 'African time' than Canadian efficiency...or maybe it was Dutch lassitude and apathy ;-)
ReplyDeleteIsn't Val just the best Dale..
ReplyDeleteVal, we have a postal strike here so theres lots of unloved and lonely mail weeping at the bottom of sacks..lol..
No, the Dutch postmark for mine was September 21. I think you can blame the Canadian Post on this one- mine came 2 days ago.

I've started reading it - so far I really enjoy your description of Koos and of how he blew in that windy night you were sitting alone...
ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't for Koos, I wouldn't have "met" you!
Gypsy, Val IS the best!
ReplyDeleteAnne-Marie - I didn't check the post mark, but I know those ship containers don't head off to sea with their load of letters until they are completely full...
Thanks, Cheryl Ann. I hope all is well with you.
And Lesley, it has been another week from hell. Looking forward to Gene's return on Monday evening.
So far I am enjoying Val's book, Grace. My only fear is that I finish it too soon!
It's all in spite of me: my 'career' was with the post ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd without me, I wouldn't have met Val either...
