Something...

Perhaps I had a wicked childhood
Perhaps I had a miserable youth
But somewhere in my wicked miserable past
I must have had a moment of truth
For here you are
Standing there
Loving me
Whether or not you should
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good
Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing ever could
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good
Here you are
Standing here
Loving me
Whether or not you should
So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good
Nothing comes from nothing
Nothing ever could
So some where in my youth or childhood
I must have done
Something Good.

From: The Sound of Music

  1. I don't know that one. Any particular reason you're quoting it?

  3. Oh! I love that one from the Sound of Music. Speaking of childhoods ... I had a childhood crush on Christopher Plummer because of that musical. :o)

  4. Anne-Marie, I was waxing poetic, but couldn't think of anything to write. This song has always struck a chord with me. It is when Baron von Trapp and Maria realise they are in love and sing this duet in the gazebo. (The adult version of the scene with Liesl and her boyfriend, Rolf)

Thank you, Grace. I hope the good I've done outweighs the bad... ;)

LOL Tink! I was bowled over by Mr. Plummer, too, and could hardly believe it when he played General Chang, a Klingon in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" movie.

I love Star Trek, by the way...

  5. I reckon all of us feel this at some time, even when we look at our kids. And I'm quite sure the balance of good is in your favour, dear Dale! I remember loving the Sound of Music when I saw it as a child.xx
