Through the smoke of distant fire
Drawn into the dusky sky
Growing stronger - rising higher
There it met my eye
Its glow was sure - a firey red
A pagan sight it's true
From the sleeping sun it fed
And yet it was quite blue
Drawn into the dusky sky
Growing stronger - rising higher
There it met my eye
Its glow was sure - a firey red
A pagan sight it's true
From the sleeping sun it fed
And yet it was quite blue
Any idea what it is?
I like it, and like the colour accompanying it!
ReplyDeleteI wish you fast internet speed. But...on a positive note...you have internet! That's a good thing :) I'd miss you otherwise.

Mmmmm .. can only guess the Moon!
ReplyDeleteLovely reprint :o)

Hi Dale,
ReplyDeletedo you now read the new Dan Brown "The Lost Symbol"? I got it and I will start, after I finish the book "Small Wars" written by Sadie Jones.
Love
Stefan
You're right, Grace... at least I am connected!
ReplyDeleteIt is the moon, Tink!
A couple of years ago, in late July, we were crossing the lake in the boat after a dinner at the pub. Fire season was upon us and the sky was filled with smoke and a blood-red full moon hung above the horizon. The irony being, that it was the second full moon in the same month - a "blue moon".
Stefan, I haven't read "The Lost Symbol" but I will definitely look it up! Angels and Demons was very good. I have since moved on to "Alaska" by James Mitchener.
xx
Dale,
ReplyDeleteI only read years ago "The Drifters". This book was very popular in Germany, but I can't remember the story. Today it's out of print.
Stefan xx
PS. Alaska I don't read, but it must be in one of the corners.
I will have a look later.
I think I remember that book, Stefan. I just might look it up, too!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you and yours in Germany. It's been pouring rain here at my parent's - I'm not used to all this wet...
xx
we have rain, too.
ReplyDeleteis it still raining 'cats and dogs' Dale?
ReplyDeletejust read your comment on one of my previous posts....thank goodness for Pete, and bringing friends from around the world together. Wonder if he knows his music has done more than just bring great music to the world?
ReplyDeleteIt could only be the moon in the valley during fire season!
ReplyDeleteDarling Dale! I hope your trip is everything you were hoping it would be! I am planning to be in the valley the the Monday after thanksgiving... but travel will be dicated by your free time and Ian's ability to supply said computer!
I wil being wine to our day of tax chores to be sure... as long as there is a couch at your house for me to crash my cheap date bottom at! LOL!
Much love...

Sheesh, here's another post I was sure I'd left a comment on and it's not here. Weird goings on on my laptop.
ReplyDeleteI have broadband here Dale, but it's still a bit slow. In Zeeland here we are on the edge of the national network and as such although I have a theoretically fast line, it's actually a bit painfully slow at times.
Still, that said, I like your re-print, especially in Red!
