I hope your end of the country continues to get more snow as the 'lympics get closer. Here, you'd swear winter's been sent off elsewhere. A real breeze so far, with temps due to hit +7C by the weekend. Isn't that beautifully ridiculous?
lol Heron! No sledging, but I do ski the back bowls, including Never Never land.
As far as the Olympics go, AM, snowmaking technology allows for great skiing on the coast - and Whistler just received a metre or so of the real stuff. Rain is a fact of life out there. Enjoy your so-called winter - it seems just what you ordered!
It makes my heart leap into my throat, too, Tink. I skied that very slope yesterday. The 15 minute hike to get there always has my stomach in a bit of a knot - therefore, I have dubbed the trail "Butterfly Ridge"... Once I drop in, everything else takes over - a super adrenaline rush!
Dale, I am willing it to snow on the lower slopes in Vancouver for you in time for The Big Gig. I hear the cover is lightest in the area where the moguls and the aerials are to be held. I suppose there's always snowmaking and trucking in from the higher slopes though. And there's still time for a good dump or two.
If it helps, we are hogging all the hot weather for you down here. It won't get below 30-34 this week, and humid with it. Yuk.
WOW !
ReplyDeleteSo do you ever go sledging down snowy hills ?
