Red looks to be an attractive horse. I admire people who are able to ride. For me though, it was a no go because I could never keeep my balance. I know this is a terrible admission & I hope you will smile, but I even fell off a donkey!
Oh Dale, now I am seriously jealous. You live in an area I love and have horses to ride to boot...eeeeekkkkk. My kind of heaven! By the way those pics are gorgeous!
Absolutely gorgeous pics - postcard perfect :) My best friend's parents owned a property along with a few horses so I used to ride quite regularly. The horse I rode was quite jittery and as a result threw me quite often - I became quite adept at either hanging on for dear life or being tossed off lol
What nostalgia Dale. Beautiful weather, breathtaking country and a brave horse to ride too. Like String, I am more than just a bit jealous!
And Heron, I too have fallen off a donkey...that's not difficult to do, even for experienced riders. I think you'd have found a horse more accommodating!
Thanks, Grace! I haven't ridden for some time now. When I had Bobby and Jenny I decided to put the sport on the back burner, so to speak. I still have Red, but he is out being a horse with his buddies in the pasture across the lake.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Heron.
ReplyDeleteRed was my faithful companion for many years. He has been out to pasture for the past ten - he will be thirty-one on May 11, 2010.
And I laugh along with you, as I have fallen off a donkey, too... and countless horses!

What gorgeous shots, Dale. I have been on a horse a few times, but never took to it. I admire your courage.

I never though of it as courage, AM - more a labour of love... ;)

well, that is great that you get to see Red, playing with his pals across a beautiful lake. What beautiful country your way.
