Hi Dale What a pair of little troopers! I guess you could say that at least if they're out there climbing those walls, they aren't making you climb yours :-)
What a fantastic life for young children, though. So wonderful for them to be able to have all that space in their back yard and to make every day an adventure if they want to.
My own kids were lucky enough to spend their childhood on a farm in Natal, South Africa, and I know that even now, they value what that gave them. My youngest is still there and although I miss her terribly, I understand why she doesn't want to leave.
Will be going there in three weeks though. I can't wait! Big smiles Val
You have some very brave kids! That is so cool that they can do stuff like that. I am always in amazement when I see people doing things I could never ever do.
I hope you got to see ITA yesterday. I am the one who burnt the dinner rolls and it was Rachels fault;)
Dale, What great pictures! I think it's wonderful that your whole family is active and enjoying the natural beauty of your surroundings. Given the high rates of obesity and inactivity in our young people, it's fantastic that your children get out there.
I just came home from a badminton team tryout, whipping birdies at children's heads. :) I've got to run out and compete in our bi-weekly tennis league. I am going to be so tired in a few hours, but I love it.
Have a lovely weekend Dale! We're off to Belgium again, so no doubt Koos will be posting some more news of our explorations on Monday..... Love to you and all your brave little crew Val

Hi Val
ReplyDeleteI believe that my children ARE very lucky & so are we, for that matter.
We have done our best to instill in all 3 of them an understanding & appreciation of where they live & the resulting opportunities.
Hopefully they will grow up with a passion such as ours for the mountains & the outdoors.
No doubt they will leave our valley at some point, but hopefully their childhood experiences will bring them home again.
I think your children were fortunate, too.
BTW I work with a fellow who grew up in Pretoria, SA.
Thanks for visiting!
Dale
