Skiing at Sunshine Village in the Alberta Rockies. It was fun although the weather was cloudy and somewhat rainy...at Sunshine.
Our little cabin in the woods. On the way home we did a spur-of-the-moment stop in the park and decided to spend the night at Kootenay Park Lodge.
This is a peek through the door of our cabin. The weather was just cool enough for us to be comfortable after lighting a cosy fire in the fireplace.
And this is the view that greeted us in the morning from the porch of our humble abode.
Oh my, Dale! What a difference from our part of the world. We are smothered in lush green and cool waters, and you are climbing the heights there in all that magnificent snowy splendour. What scenery! It must almost hurt your eyes. Your cabin looks so cosy there. I'm glad you had time to stop and stare.
ReplyDeleteActually Val, at this time of year, our valley is lush and green, too, with boats upon the lake and people lazing on the beaches.
ReplyDeleteThe difference in altitude is what makes it so changeable.
On Saturday I was in my bathing suit doing the garden, meanwhile getting sunburnt shoulders.
The next day we were skiing through the snow in the high alpine!
And to go and ski....
ReplyDeleteHa!, you and I were almost in sync ;-)
ReplyDeleteIn sync with only 7 or so hours between us!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteOn another note - I don't know if you heard the latest news from our cousins. I only learned this week that Frank left Wendy (for another woman) in January!!!! Guess none of us are perfect.
I love the cabin, and the view is spectacular. lovely photos. No bikini while skiing?!
ReplyDeletexo
Lesley, yes I heard. I hope Wendy is doing OK. It's not easy.
ReplyDeleteGrace, I really was hoping for the bikini...the weather was not co-operating, though. But we still skied, and that's what counts!
Whoooosh....that's Dale going by in a bikini on skis....hee hee
ReplyDeleteThat little log cabin looks sooo cushdy...and waking up to that view must be awe inspiring!!..
ReplyDeleteDon't they have a thermal bikini there then?
That is a room with a view. Great pics, Dale!
ReplyDeleteI am ready for summer myself, but it just doesn't seem in much of a hurry to get here. May is acting like April after April acted like May.
xx
AM
You must be an amazing skiier Dale.
ReplyDeleteDale:
ReplyDeleteLast week it was blazing hot here. This weekend, it snowed nearby. Must be global warming, or maybe lunar lunacy....dunno.
Hey, you used a cabin? It is even more interesting to sleep out in the snow....try it, you'll...
...go back to the cabin.
Nice photos. Great stuff.

Wow! Could we trade locations for a little while? :)
ReplyDeleteDale, I'll do you a deal - you ski your little heart out in your quilted bikini, and I'll keep the fire going for when you get back. That cabin looks deliciously cosy. Between Val's and Koos' new barge and this little dolls' house, I've come over all nesty. I want to play too!
ReplyDeleteTell you what Dale, shall we 'nest' swap for a few weeks...you can stay on our barge, while we do the log cabin thing! Sound good??
ReplyDeleteDale, Alfie wants to go skiing with you, but I told him you wouldn't be able to find him in the snow unless he wears a bright orange ski suit. So he declined saying that orange was sooo last year..
