Well, lo and behold, it's finally snowing. There's only about half an inch on the ground - it's a start... At least I feel more like decorating the house today. The Christmas songs are playing on the stereo, the sky is overcast, flakes are falling and we are getting ready to begin cooking breakfast - eggs benedict, bacon and mandarine oranges. The three cats and the dog are fed and I've my morning coffee beside me. All is good.
Lovely snow post. Oddly, I just posted today aswell, with warm and sunny day, not trying to be mean lol, just finding irony in it. Sounds like a good day. :)
Very pretty Dale! But quite modest for your part of the world isn't it? I expect there'll be a lot more where that came from soon...or at least you hope so!
Is that your house? It looks very swiss and chalet style. I love all the trees around the house. They always make me feel good.
Hi Grace, I am thinking of skiing. And I don't mind hearing about hot sunny weather this time of year. We watched some of the ski racing on TV yesterday. One race at Lake Louise was cancelled due to inclement weather - too much snow LOL
Yes Val, it's a rather weak turnout as far as accumulation, but it had just started when I snapped the pics. There's a couple of inches more now - higher up there should be even more snow. Yes, it's where I'm living now. Eugene built the house back in the '70's and the style is based on a California beach house, sort of. It's low and rambling - maybe I'll take a photo from a better perspective. I quite like it!
Skiing starts on Friday! We will aim to be at the hill for noon at the latest. I have to get equipment for the kids - the ski shop offers seasonal rentals to locals. It's a great deal where the kids can change up skis, boots or poles if they grow during the season - much more economical than buying each year. The kids, too, are looking forward to a snow day!
Margie, yes there really is a heaven! It's days like that when I feel like the world shrinks and only my house and yard exist...
Anne-Marie - I wish I could get by on a vegetarian diet. I have always liked meat, but, oddly enough, I seem to be losing my taste for it. Maybe I should take advantage of that.
no kidding eh! I was THRILLED to wake up to it!
ReplyDeleteI am rooting for a good six feet.
Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as "too much snow"...

Cosy inside while it's snowing, coffee, Christmas and EGGS BENEDICT? Oh there is a heaven ...
ReplyDeleteDale,
ReplyDeleteWe could be twinned cities. We just don't have the bacon here in my veggie world, but ditto on the 3 cats and the dog.
