Lesley, I hear there's a lot of concrete in the mountains of Europe... I'd love to go to there some day. Gene has been there skiing a couple of times. He loved it!
Grace, I took these because of the stark contrast of the industry and the wild. And I took the photo of the mine on a rainy day when we were visiting our cousins in Fernie. Sparwood is just down the road. The Exshaw plant was taken on a hot, sultry summer day - at Steph's wedding, actually!
Reminds me of the drive up to beautiful Val d'Isere. Lots of industry in the valleys and spectacular scenery up high.
