HENRIETTA

I am worried about our guinea pig.

Yesterday she was stepped on by accident and we all feel dreadful about it.

Poor little Henri has not quite been herself since, but I think it could have been much worse...

She is such a dear member of our family and has been for three years now. I hope she is okay and recovers without any harm done.

I included a special thought for her in my evening prayers before going to bed last night.

Henrietta is such a happy and cheerful pig - if guinea pigs can be happy and cheerful...

I am looking forward to hearing her hungry squeaks again when I open the lettuce drawer in the fridge.

  1. Oopsi! Oh Goodness, that's awful. Oh Sorry.

Good mornign. I had th ecomputer shut off all weekend. I do not intend on spending much more time on it today. After I talk to you I think I am turning it off.

I read the last chapter of Pete's story but the comments are shut down already. That's alright. I don't know if I have anything to add to this chapter anyway. Plus, I don't know if I really "got" the ending anyway. I was thoroughly distracted becaus e the kids are home. I read it but it didn't sink in. I'll have to read it again after they go to bed tonight.

I miss Simon and his blog, don't you?

I hope you have a nice day. You're a sweetie.

  3. Oh Dale, how terrible! Poor little Henri. You must all be feeling such heels (ouch! 'scuse the pun!). I will think of the poor little piggie in my words to the wise tonight too, and hope she gets better really quickly. You've not been having much luck recently, hey? First Scat and now this. By the way, is Scat OK now?
    Take care yourself too.

  4. Oh poor Heni! I worked with a girl named Henri a long time ago. Her real name was Henrietta. How sweet is that name!

Just popping by to say hello seeing as I have 10 min before I have to head out again!

  5. Hi Dale,

I hope that little Henrietta is on the mend soon.

Your blog is so good! I love all the different posts you have. Especially about the Olympics. I love the winter olympics. My sport is Curling. I could watch/play all day. I have never skied before. I am afraid of heights. I would do better in cross country.

I loved your pictures of Pete. You are very good! I am going to post another this evening.

Thanks for the birthday wishes and a happy belated birthday to you also!

    Take care!

  6. Oh no! I hope Henrietta recovers. I guess it's hard to compete with people on the floor when you're only a pound or 2 - kind of like a Smart Car next to a MAC truck. Best wishes for her speedy recovery!

  7. Thanks for all your wishes well for Henrietta.

She appears to have perked up quite a bit.
This morning she squeaked hungrily as I opened the lettuce drawer & stood on her hind legs begging to be fed.
    She is eating better.
As well, Henri is moving around more & is a bit more flexible again.
Poor thing - she must feel like I would being run over by a Mack truck...MB.
    LOL
I'm beside her cage & she's actually hopping about a bit.
    Whew.
    I felt so bad.
Yes, quite like a heel, Val!

    Thanks again.

    Love
    Dale

  8. Aww, poor little Henri. I'm glad she's on the mend. You need to feed her those expensive mixed green lettuces to make it up to her. She is as cute as a button.
