Ghosts in the Room

No hats in the corner
No coats on the floor
No warm fire burning
They've blown through the door
And it feels like they're still here
Their laughter filling the air
I wish they had stayed now
Instead of going away
I wish I had frozen
Long enough to say...

  6. Sometimes silence is a good time to take a moment to recharge and enjoy your own company.

Lots of love sent your way.

  9. Dale, I'm not sure what's going on in your life at the moment, but you do seem to be suffering more upheaval than is any way fair or reasonable for such a lovely person. Whatever the details are though, you've obviously such a lot to be proud of. Whatever separation you're enduring, may it be temporary, cause you as little pain as possible, and leave you an even stronger person.

    PS; I love your writing.

  10. Where did everyone go? I hope it won't be long before your loneliness is filled with the sounds of laughter.

  11. (I see you've uncovered the "Ghosts") by the time I discovered the poem hiding underneath, I was too amused/amazed at the "transparent nature" of the post to offer anything of comfort. If it was, indeed, comfort that was needed? Then I just felt rather stoopid. The poem is very evocative and I thought the words being hidden was brilliant.

I do not know what it means exactly ... if your family is absent temporarily or if the reference was to someone who died.

    "Before I could say ...."

say it here, if you can. If you need. If you want. If not, it's fine too!

HUGE HUG and prayers for whatever you need just now.

p.s. one day, I will write about *real* ghosts that lived in my home.

  12. I hope I haven't confused too many with this.
It is indeed a re-write of Rachel Fuller's "Ghost In Your Room".

I took the liberty of changing some of the words, but not the essence of the song, in order to convey how I was feeling at the time.
That song was circling my head at the time.

My children are with their Dad for two weeks - it will be the longest I have ever been away from them.

I felt sad and alone rattling about an empty house...
