REMEMBERING MURPHY

Yesterday Murphy passed away quietly.

She was wrapped in her blankie in her favourite spot on the front seat of George's truck.

The vet was kind.

Murphy now rests wrapped in the same blanket up the mountainside behind our home.

From her place she can see down into the valley and hear the creek as it rushes past, making its way down the mountain before passing our doorstep.

It had been beautiful day and the evening sun set with that particular light that cast every detail into sharp relief.

The night that followed was wild, as though to raise Murphy's spirit along with a powerful blaze of thunder and lightning.

After being ill for so long, once more Murphy can run free.

  3. Dear Dale
My words aren't enough. Yours say it all. And more. A truly beautiful farewell to this life and foretaste of the next. Dear, sweet, kind Murphy. She deserves the release from pain, but I can't help the sorrow for your and your children's loss.

Thanks for letting me know Dale. She looks gorgeous in the photo.

  13. Sorry to hear about Murphy. I may have said this before, but it bears saying again: To some people, dogs are just pets. To others they are furry children who just happen to walk on all fours and can't speak clearly. I love your tribute to him.
