If I took it and didn't throw it back, or held it and ran with it, or tossed it in the opposite direction, it would become a new game...one with rules I don't know.
Maybe Rachel's right - go with the bend for now and stay in the playing field...but end up running round and round in circles!
You were darker, deeper While I was closer to you You were only treading water I couldn't hold onto you And if there's a problem now Who will I turn to? And if I should falter here Will you watch me go under?
'Cos I'm praying Holding on to A lifeline And a vision of you So I'll keep praying I'll keep holding on to The faith I have Will bring me back to you.
You were one stroke stronger While I was going down And I fall deeper And darker and stranger To these depths unknown And in my dreams You fall through my fingers Still I sleep And the sound of you lingers...
You know what they teach at primary school now? Resilience, a thirst for life-long learning, and the importance of adaptability. Someone has figured out that those who survive and grow will be the ones who can embrace change and accept life's knocks without falling over.
When life throws you a curve ball, do you reach out to catch it... or duck and run?
ReplyDeleteyou could bend with it...or catch it and throw it right back..>:0)...
ReplyDeleteWhat if you catch it and find you don't want to throw it back, even though you know you should...for the game's sake.
ReplyDeleteI would catch it , then throw it in another direction.
ReplyDelete...maybe I'll go with the bend...
ReplyDeleteBending can give you a little time to decide how you want to play the game.
ReplyDeleteif you catch it and you want it...then keep it and run...

Or pray... at the deep end.
Dale,
ReplyDeleteAre you okay?
I'm okay, thanks Rachel - it's just one of those curves that life throws...
ReplyDeleteI've been waxing melancholy.
But maybe I'll return it with a knuckleball - and stay in the big game!
WoooHooo!
Praying never hurts either...
You were darker, deeper
ReplyDeleteWhile I was closer to you
You were only treading water
I couldn't hold onto you
And if there's a problem now
Who will I turn to?
And if I should falter here
Will you watch me go under?
'Cos I'm praying
Holding on to
A lifeline
And a vision of you
So I'll keep praying
I'll keep holding on to
The faith I have
Will bring me back to you.
You were one stroke stronger
While I was going down
And I fall deeper
And darker and stranger
To these depths unknown
And in my dreams
You fall through my fingers
Still I sleep
And the sound of you lingers...
put the ball down and have a ball..
ReplyDelete... not sure I want to go with the bend. But perhaps go on a bend. Things are sure to change if I do that!
ReplyDeleteI will bend down and let the ball go...
ReplyDeleteBe humble before the onslaught of life. A greater purpose is at work.
ReplyDeleteWork with it and always find a way to follow your heart.
wow. I said that!? This cold medicine is good stuff!
Love,
Rachel

ReplyDeleteMethinks someone's been doing their homework.
Love the quotes.

I agree with Margie. When life throws you lemons, make lemonade.
