A NEW SEASON

I found this photo on the internet and posted it, because the landscape is very similar to where I live and mountain bike.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water...

The ski season is all but over now - but mountain biking season is well on its way.

...this is my summertime passion!

  3. Dear Dale
I think it's just flying down extremely steep and hazardous slopes that's your passion! If you can't do it on skis.......
    Watch out it's Dangergirl!

  5. Trust me, Val, I am VERY careful!
Rocks are much sharper than snow.
...that is derived from first-hand experience.

Three seasons ago I had a fall from my bike, breaking my ribs & accumulating other nasty boo-boos simultaneously.

Actually, the fall was OK - it was the landing...

Don your helmet & down we go...

  7. Again, Val, you may have a point there...

I never thought of it as being the common denominator of my favourite sports.

But then, living in the mountains, I don't have to look very far in order to participate.

Did I ever tell you that I am terrified of heights?

  10. Well, enjoy your AC/DC weekend!!!!
You sure have been Angus crazed lately. Did the radio station get this weekend together just for you?
    : )

  11. Ok, so I'm Peppermint Patty and you're Marcy since you are calling me Sir?

Dang, X-Mom. You broke your ribs and you still are back up there. YEAH! How long did it take to recover from that? Can you still feel that it used to be broken, like it's not 100%?

I've always been nuts for Angus.

It was on a previous post about my "Secret Crush"...it's just not secret any more!

But remember, Pete is my true love...:)

    LOL

I have dubbed you "Eternal Champion of The Who" - like a knighthood, hence the "Sir".

It took about 4 months before I was myself again. My ribs don't hurt any more, but if I'm in a position where I need to use my abs - like getting up after a fall skiing - I can get the worst muscle cramp across my ribs. It's like my body remembers & wants to protect them - it really hurts then!

Yes, I'm having fun listening to AC/DC on the radio & they must have been thinking of me!
Now they'll have to have a Who weekend!

  13. Hi Dale,

We have the Nortel bike-a-thon today through the city, and I'm seeing loads of people looking just like in this picture go by the road behind our house alreay. It's only 9:30 - they must be dedicated bikers to rise so early on a Sunday!

  14. Ah, Mary Beth, what a great way to greet a Sunday morning!
    ;)

  15. Yikes, Dale,
You are way more adventurous than the rest of us mere mortals. I'm glad you've got a passion that can shift with the seasons.

    Cheers,
