  2. I have learnt to keep my mouth shut regarding those things, I once was bragging about my car soon turning 200000 km without any trouble and the next day the generator broke down and left me in the middle of nowhere, so be careful... :)

  3. lol Grace!
I think it's from keeping the pedal from the metal that my van has lasted this long... ;)

Yes Hans, that's why I decided to take the word "strong" from the end of the title!

  4. Good for you Dale. We have an old 1992 Toyota van/bus and it's still going...... I love the old girl and get most upset when our garage man tells us to think about scrapping it - just because he doesn't know how to adjust the carburetor! He's so young he barely even knows what a carb is! i'm going to take a look at it myself I think. I used ot manage my old mini carb...

  5. Mind you, we're nowhere close to 300,000 kms! Small country, good public transport, so we only use it at weekends! Getting close to the 200,000 mark though....

  6. Mine's a 1998 model, Val, and we do a lot of traveling in this large country of ours - no faring along the waterways to get from town to town... or from country to country!

lol Stephan, unfortunately it is not a VW - it's a Ford Windstar and I love it!

  8. My old ford was up to 250,000 k's and I would still be driving it if my ex had not declared the cars value at $9,000 lol when in fact it was only worth $1,000 dearly loved or not I was not paying an extra fictional $8,000 for the vehicle ;)So I bid my travelling partner farewell ;)and ended up with a toyota instead
