Distant booms
and staggered light
Exploding into sparkling orbs
scattering
and disintegrating
Silently tinkling down
into the dark that is the night horizon.

  5. Val, the parade in our little town, population 2,500, gets better every year!
Not to mention the midnight fireworks to celebrate and welcome the day are breathtaking.
I not only salute Canada, but the people who have worked hard and volunteered to make this a fabulous day! Jenny included :)

Happy Canada Day back, Lesley.Did you have a good day, too?

It is, indeed, a great time of year, Gina. Welcome summer! Barbeques, boating and lazing in the sun!
It's after 9:00 and the sun is still high in the sky, but behind a bank of clouds at the moment.

  9. Hey Val!
The nearest portion of the border to me is so mountainous, wild and remote there is no one living there. Maybe the border guards have a get together...
