  2. Now that's something to get excited about! (the sleep bit)

We are due for snow at the end of next week, apparently. Blah.

  4. Yes, Anne-Marie, the extra hour of sleep does raise the excitement bar... I think we should have an extra hour every night!

And Gypsy, you are correct... it's the countdown to the first day of skiing at Panorama.

... although, we might take a day in November to go to Lake Louise which opens earlier for World Cup ski racing.

On opening day, I take the kids out of school and myself from work to hit the slopes - the schools are all but empty that day!

  6. Hear! hear! for an extra hour of sleep every night!

    Who do I ski.......er.....see?

I know a few folks here who love to ski, but I think it would give them serious pause to try Panorama - what passes for a ski hill here is really quite pathetic!

Gypsy, I'm a ski virgin, too. I've done a little cross-country, but downhill - except for watching experts - really never caught my interest. I'll sit and sip chocolate in the chalet any day, though! Hot tubs are also very, very nice:)

    41 now....

  8. Lets hear it for all apres ski activities!

  9. It's not just an apres ski activity EL...

    Crap!

I am presently missing a soak in the hot tub with the requisite bottle of wine because we don't have anyone to look after Jenny.

  10. I now sit at home (out of the hot tub) with a crisp glass of wine to top off the evening.

... the cat has his face shoved into Jenny's left-over glass of milk on the hearth.

I am SO excited for you!!! I looooove snow, although I don't ski, LOL. I love to sit by the fire in the shelter.

  14. Welcome back, Marietta!
I hope all is well for you - it's been a bit of a rocky road, hasn't it.
I know you remember my countdown from last year...

You're righteeoo, Gypsy - it can be the most boring day of the week... unless you go to church -
    Ohhh Nooooo!
... I mean unless one spends the afternoon in the great outdoors on a mountain bike!

Oh, you fluffy-white-stuff-on-a-hill virgins don't know what you're missing - and Marietta's right - the folks are great!

Hey EL, I spend as many evenings as I can in the hot tub!
Unfortunately we don't have one of our own... yet
... so we have to borrow!
Apres mountain biking works well, too.
