Looking down...

A testament to the human condition...

Lovely flowers - even the view from behind - but then there happens some ugly human interference to scar the scenery.

  2. Down and beautiful, Down and dirty.

Human pollution via littering and adding smoke to the atmosphere. I wonder how much less air pollution there would be if everyone stopped smoking?

Maybe that should be added to the earth day message.

  3. That daisy is talking to you - "No, I won't look at the camera! I just know the next photo you're going to take is going to be of a soggy old fag-end, and I'm not sharing the page with that! You can't make me! Oh. You did it anyway. Can I have another chance then? I mean, if you're going to put me on your blog, at least let me show my best side ... Dale? Dale? Pleeease, I didn't mean it .... Daaaaaaale! Oh. She's gone. Bugger."

  6. Mary Beth - that's what I thought, too.

    Dan!

Lesley - I don't know how much less air pollution there'd be if everyone stopped smoking, but unsightful butts left by uncaring smokers really get my dander up -
not to mention any litter left behind by non-smokers, too.

Margie - she was just very shy...

Gypsy - the sky's the limit!

  7. I was standing in one spot at a local spring/swimming/fishing/sink hole when I took this photo...

It's a popular place, fairly close to town, and humans have left their clear mark upon the area.

  8. Ian took similar photos in the park yesterday... lovely flowers, beauty all around, and then... a diaper. Niiiice.
I don't mind if people smoke, and I think the air pollution would be impacted far more greatly by wood stoves being properly maintained and wood properly dried and cured. So few people actually do that. You can put catalytic (spelling??) converters on wood stoves that greatly reduce their emmissions. In fact, in the winter, here in this lovely valley,we have some of the worst air quality in B.C. because of the wood stoves. But I totally agree that smokers should be more considerate, including asking before lighting up, and never leaving butts lying around. I used to carry a little portable ashtray.
