Fire and Ice



This pic was caught about ten minutes before the top photo was snapped. It is a view of the left sundog from above - the ice crystal layer was about half way down the mountain.
No fancy camera - I just pointed and shooted...

  2. That wasn't the lens, Hans.
    That is exactly how it looked - the sun shining through a layer of ice crystals.
    It was breath-taking!

  3. Yeah, OK, I'm used to see that often here as well, sometimes full circles with some "extra suns" symmetrically arranged around the perimeter. This one was so sharp and clear I thought it was the flare effect inside the lens!
