I splurged on bakery treat cookies for the kids. With food stamps. I was happy doing it. I think this might be progress. ;o)

  4. BTW the photo is one I took of the sun high in the sky early the other evening.
Again, the smoky air revealed an unearthly glow.

  5. Yes - and keep your head high! But what are DQ treats? I think it's not so much a language barrier I'm dealing with here, but a food barrier.

    Dunk quicks?
    Delicious Quackers?
    Donut Quarters?
    Dark Quocolate?
    Dale's Queemcakes?

No, you're just going to have to tell me please.

You sound strong and determined today - and happier.

  7. Well in the words of AC/DC

"I'm on a highway to hell"

Well your not going that way!..
    (Angus said so)

I'm going to take you on quick detour...
see the sign that says' Around the corner'?..

This holds fear for the pessimist.. and excitement for the Optimist..

Which one do you 'want' to be?..

    Remember-optimists have all the luck..:0)

  8. Dale,
many years ago, one of my hubby's fundamentalist relatives lamented the fact that I wasn't "born again" and he was afraid that I would spend eternity in hell.
I smiled, batted an eyelid or two, and replied that it would be alright, since I suspected many of my friends would be there too and it would make a nice little party. Good to know I'll be able to make you a mixed drink or two as well.:)

I hope you're feeling better. Remember the wise words of someone or other:

Some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug.

    xx

  10. You are such a doll Dale!
Let me know if you want company to go to the food bank again... I know exactly how you feel, and would be honoured to be there with someone who is secure enough in the beautful person they are to take the help offered when needed... knowing the cupboards are not bare helps take one of the stresses away...
Margie: Dairy Queen is a fast food chain started by a gay man named Darius many years ago.. he so enjoyed making ice cream that he decided to start his own company, but wanted at the same time to celebrate who he truly was. Hence, the name Dairy (a mix of Darious and Dairy) Queen (for obvious reasons).
And now for a word from our sponsor...
