Simple Pleasures

Coffee in the morning sunshine.
A picnic by the creek.
Sunset.
Thanksgiving dinner.
Clouds.
White wine.
Skinny dipping at a deserted beach.
Brightly painted toenails.
Cold beer.
Moonlight.
A crackling fire on a snowy winter's eve.
Butterflies.
Children's laughter.
Catching snowflakes on my tongue.
Summer rain.
Walks along the lakeshore.
Daisies.
Skating on the pond.
Thunderstorms.
Egg salad sandwiches.
Music.
Lazy summer afternoons drifting on the lake.
Stargazing.
Wearing a summer dress.
A kiss.
Going barefoot.
Slipping between clean sheets.
A smile.

  2. Yes a new kitty! We named him Ashes, as it looks like he's rolled in the remains of a fire.
I think his dad was Siamese.

For Vixen's sake, I hope you found 2 ballocks...

  6. Dale, I have missed so much here in the last few days! Lovely kitty (really, really beautiful colouring,) and I also loved the "Oh" stream-of-consciousness one. You've been a busy girl.

As for your eight, I didn't know about the fourth child your brother adopted - that sounds intriguing and very loving. No. 6 I can certainly identify with, and as for no. 8, Colin turns fifty in November, and he's had the flu. He says fifty feels like the new seventy!

Which all brings us up to date, and to this latest post. It's full of beautiful images and simple but precious pleasures - always the best ones. It has a lovely rhythm too, and ends ... perfectly.

  7. So lovely .... and I can't wait to meet your new family pets!!

I read your profile before I did my "big 8" and so I blended my 8 with simple pleasures because I thought what you wrote was great!

Yes only one month to go!

  8. Lovely images, Dale. A kind of "these are a few of my favourite things". You have a talent for poetry and evoking images. Beautiful!!

About your kitty, I left a comment beneath his pic. He's adorable. Tnu will get used to him in the end, but it's a hard process of adjustment!

LOL Gypsy, that other bollock's escaped...must be off down the abbatoir looking for some action ;-)

    Will you rename Vixen now?

I have one more for your list: fuzzy socks, a good friends and hot tea...
