Oh...deer

I took this photo of a little four-pointer from our front window this morning.

  1. what a nice pic Dale. Why does the deer only have three "points" on one antler and four on the other? Why do they call it a "four pointer" and not 7? (putting both together) just curious.....and quirky.
hope your day is sunny and your heart happy:)

  2. Oh my. Be still my heart! This is amazing ... from your front window yet. :::sigh::: Thank you, Dale! I stop by and find such wonderful gifts and treats here.

  4. Dale you raving loon! How the hell are ya? Thanks for visiting my page and your comments, erm Harvey kinda likes it I think, the giggles tend to get louder when I fall off, but mainly I practice when he's asleep, easier to concentrate :)

Lovely deer by the way, the only points I see out of my window are the roofs of other houses! xx

  5. Nice photos Dale. A special treat to see creatures (other than a herd of cats) outside your windows.

Hope you and the gang have a Happy Halloween!

  6. Dale, how are you? I was so sorry to read of what happened to your house. I could point out every wrinkle on my face and which child of mine they came from!
Anyway, Happy Halloween! Dress up, have some good vino, watch a good classic horror movie, put on some Who and rock out like you were 14-works for me most of the time!

  7. Such a beautiful animal. I hope it avoids being the object of some hunter's intention. I think of this as it is deer season. Oh dear...

Hope all is well with you.

  8. Still can't get over your views - and to have this glorious creature outside your window! Wow.

How goes it with you? Hope things are smoothing over and you're feeling a little more in control. Hmm... control. Bad word. Not one I recognise easily thse days! You know what I mean though.

  9. Cheryl Ann - I've often wondered why not 8 points? But someone else decided...the fourth point on the far antler is hidden.

It's not my own front window, but it's the one where I'm staying, Tink. Just up the road from my old house...still mine, but I'm not there any more. I'm happy that you consider my spot full of gifts and treats. Makes my own heart feel good.

He's a well-fed "town" buck, for sure, Grace. The winter coat coming in adds to his bulk, but he is pretty big for a mule deer.

Yes, Chaz, raving loon that I am... lol. I'm doing ok, thanks! I don't see many roof points from here...get my point? ;)

Lesley, the cats are growing, but hopefully not procreating...heaven forbid. The deer are frequent visitors.

Antoinette! How good to hear from you! It has been a very bad 6 months for me. The universe (amoung other things/people) apparently doesn't/don't like change. The pumpkin is in the process of being carved, the boys are out filling/destroying the garbage bag ghost family and the candy bowl is full...there's even a glass of wine waiting for me. The Who are in the wings and I'm sure we can find a spooky movie somewhere! Thanks.

Zoe, he certainly is a beauty. The bucks know it's hunting season and hang about town where they seem to know it's safe. The does are in hiding this time of year.

Margie, I am very lucky, despite all. I look around and thank the powers that be that I am able to live where I do. I'm still in limbo, as far as the living situation goes, but we're adapting.
And yes, control is an appropriate word to use right now.

    Thanks to all!

  12. Didja shoot it??

    KIDDING!

    Beautiful beautiful animal.
You live in such a gorgeous area Dale.
I want SO badly to visit BC. I have wanted to for years. I want to retire in Canada, but hubby says it's too darn cold. :(

Thankfully I don't know ANYONE who was affected by the soCal fires, thank God. That's pretty miraculous.
I became less homesick once the fires started!

Hope all is well with YOU too my dear.
    Love,
    Suexxx

  13. Oh Dale, this is lovely indeed! What a dear (!) gentle face it has. Am keeping too many balls in the air this week, but next week things will start to ease off. I'll be back with more then. Have a lovely weekend, dear Dale. xx
