I AM MISSING THIS TODAY

This is Taynton Bowl.

It is off the back side of the summit of our ski hill.
All the runs are at least double black diamond, meaning they are long, steep, deep, and very difficult. But fun!!
My eight year old daughter was skiing back in there last Sunday...

This particular photo, taken just the other day, was shot from the heli-skiing helicopter.
I have never had the pleasure of going skiing via any mode of air transport, but some day I'd love to give it a go!

I am resting at home today, recovering from my mysterious illness, so I can save my energy for work tomorrow.

  1. Dale,
I hope the rest is having a positive effect. have not gone snow tubing once this season- Toronto and the surrounding area is like England so far this winter, absolutely pathetic. I am sure the ski lodge operators are just miserable and losing their shirts.

I'm going to take pictures of my Dracula mugs when I have a chance and put them up on my blog for you to admire. Stay tuned!

    Cheers,
    AM

  2. Dale;

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I am sure 40 will be a great year too and I am all ready looking forward to 41! I hope you start feeling better soon, nothing like a good mysterious illness to put a damper in your winter fun.

BTW about your photo description, you call that a HLLL!

  3. Are you feeling any better? Like significantly better? Any results or word back from the doc yet?

I had a very busy weekend. Lots of work. LOTS of it. But also a bit of shopping. You can go to Ballerina Gurl's blog and read what I wrote in the comments. Just you and her blog I am visiting now. As I have to go. Monday is here and it stops for no one. Not even me.

    Hope you are feelign better.

  4. Dear Dale,
I sincerely hope you get better very soon. Might be a great opportunity to treat yourself to one of those chopper rides;-)
Hope you'll be able to enjoy the rest of the snow season to the full.
    Love

  5. If you are skiing...you have your priorities right where they should be!!

I used to ski Mammoth Mountain. I got to the point that I could ski down a few black diamonds which was an accomplishment I am still proud of.

There is something about skiing that is so incredibly indescribibly incredible and I miss it so much. I NEED to get my ass back on a mountain and ski again before I die.

I think I'll put that on my list of things I need to do.

Keep on skiing Dale. Life is too short not too.

    Love,
    Johanna
