PETE...

This is another one of my favourite photos of Pete.

I want to be the little horsey/giraffe guy...

Pete is noticeably absent from my weekends, now.

I miss visiting his blog and reading a new chapter of his novel every week.
I miss the chat back and forth between the bloggers.
I miss seeing Pete's comments to us.

His blog is quiet now.

It's like walking the halls of school long after the last bell.
...silent echoes and faded voices...

It was a joy, Mr. Townshend...

'twas a joy!

  1. Dale,
I love that picture- I wish I were one of the stuffed animals, although Towser looks less than impressed!

I know what you mean about missing the blog. It was such a good place to hang out on Satursdays.

We're going snowtubing tonight, my dear. I am finally going to embrace a bit of snow.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. I can only imagine that Pete did this exact thing when he was a boy. Set up a room full of his "friends" to perform to. What a captive audience. Who hasn't done that before. I too, have always loved this photograph.

Had some time on my hands this morning so I am checking in with all my favorite bloggers, I hope all is well!

  3. Hey Dale
What a precious picture! I've never seen it before, but it's so touching, although I agree with Anne Marie. Towser looks as if he's wishing this idiot would stop making him hang out with all these puppets. How undiginified! Seriously, tho, it's really lovely. Thanks so much for that.

You sound really sad about Pete's blog, but if I'm not much mistaken, I thought I heard him say he was starting a new one? Something to do with their upcoming tour and jokes that he needs for the shows? Watch his space, Dale, and I'm sure you won't be rattling around in an empty blog site for long. You put it so evocatively, I think we can all relate to that feeling really well.
    Thanks again Dale

  4. Yes, I think too much and sometimes about the oddest things, I believe if anyone spend a full day wandering around in my head they would come out with a twitch and drooling a little! I hope you had a great day on the slopes!

  5. Hey....

    C'est moi!

Here's a quicky (!!)because I feel bad I haven't visited for so long.
I love this picture. And I could easily turn myself into one of those stuffed animals, just for the private performance of Mr. Pete...

My Canadian flatmate is still in London, but thinking of going home. Everytime she watches something on TV about N.America she gets all sentimental...

    Hope you're well

  7. Thanks for the response to my 7 things, Dale. I can recommend doing it! Great fun!

I know what you mean about strays.I think I'd cheerfully play host to a house full of all those animals that no one else wants. I'm sometimes a bit ashamed that I'm often more touched by sad animal stories than I am about human tragedies.

I quite envy you having so many furry friends at home. I wish I could have at least a cat, but firstly, the boat is too small for more pets, and secondly, so many of my friends' cats have drowned here in the harbour, I'm afraid to have another one. I used to have a cat before I had Sindy, but she disappeared, and I hate to think it, but she probably drowned too. So, no more pussers.

I guess you're right about me being a Who fan......LOL

But, there are loads more I could've put there too. Seven is definitely not enough when it comes to music.

Looking forward to seeing your list.
    Take care dear.

  8. Hi Dale!

I love that picture too! Especially the look on Towser's face.

I love the way you described the absence of Pete's blog. I miss it too.

Maybe some day he will come back. We shall see.

Hope all is well up your way. Will be watching ITA tomorrow. I hope you get to see it this time.

    Take care!
