And I Moved

... but I moved toward Me!

  1. You're right, Val.
I did a draft thinking I might not have time on moving day.
... forgetting that, even on Blogger, no one can sneak about.

  4. Aha!
I am moving only to the other side of town. I've never lived on the north side of the creek...

I found a lovely little house in the perfect location. It's perched on a hill with magnificent lake and mountain views. There's a wrap-around deck and I've already set up a table and chairs under the covered portion for dining. The deed to the property comes with an easement to the beach and docks at Hidden Bay on the lake and the kids are thrilled about the whole idea.

I spent my first night there last night and it was so hot...
Since dawn today, massive thunder storms have been rolling north up the valley. I get a 360 degree view from my place and it's been quite fantastic!
The torrential rains have put a bit of a damper on moving some of my furniture in the back of the truck, but there's still plenty to do at the house.

Now I have to move another load...
I'll post some pics whenever I get a chance - right now my own computer is offline, but I can still use Gene's.

  6. Aha! So this was the countdown! I'm almost glad I was away for the pooter for a week or so and you couldn't drive me mad with all your countdown posts, but I've caught up with them now, and your new place sounds absolutely magnificent. I'm so happy for you!

I was sorry to read about your friend though - yes, things come in threes, but sadly I have one more young life lost to add to the list - a beautiful schoolfriend of Sophie's, just 16, who died suddenly of a coronary thrombosis. Completely random, utterly without reason, totally devastating. Her father had died when she was three, she was an only child, and her mother is completely broken. I cannot begin to tell you how difficult the funeral was. Soph is still dealing with it in her quiet way, but oh boy - this is a time to count our blessings.

So counting with you in mind: Happy new home, happy school holidays, happy kids, happy summer, happy great outdoors and Go Canada!

You must be thrilled with your new home, and I'm so very happy for you. Things are changing everywhere, and I'm so glad the change for you is one you want and are glad about.

Happy happy new home, dear Dale. Raising a glass to you xxx

  10. Congrats on the move, Dale. I hope the transition is going well. Be careful, though, and don't end up with strains and sprains like I did!
