THE ROAD WE TRAVEL

This photo is of one of the magnificent views along the highway in Kootenay National park. It is located between where we live and Banff, Alberta.

My son had a doctor's appointment the other day in the town of Canmore, just on the other side of Banff, and we had the opportunity to take in the beautiful scenery along the way.

As I have always said - and always will say - we are so very lucky to live where we do!
Hopefully my children will also appreciate the benefits and opportunities available to us living in these mountains.

It's a beautiful day - touch me, take me to that other place, teach me...

Now that you mention it, I'm sure I glimpsed Gandalf on a previous journey through those peaks...

  5. I think I'm going through menopause.

I ran a stop sign this morning & started to cry...

    What was THAT?

As a result, I took up my buddies' offer of a mountain bike ride after work this afternoon...
It was just what I needed.

The weather was perfection, the trails tricky & the company fun.
We topped it off with a glass of wine on my friend's deck watching the eagles soar above the lake.

    It's a beautiful day...

  6. It is indeed a lovely photo. Your children will appreciate it all one day, if they don't already.

Crying's okay, sweetie, as long as it was inexplicable and you're still happy underneath it all. :)

  8. running a stop sign is enough to make anyone cry...if it is the dreaded menopause...just think of the advantages...we can have tantrums at will and blame it on the menopause...also those hawian moments come in handy on cold winter nights...this is are time to change from being a chrysalis...into a beautiful butterfly....

  10. Hi Dale,
Ah, the joys of being our age...

I envy you your ability to mountain bike there. What a great way to blow off some steam.

I love the photos on your blog, so vibrant and strong.

    You are, too.

    Hugs,
    Brina

  12. PTfan, yes Beth does appreciate it.

Thanks, Brina. Like Gypsy said, we'll be able to stay warm on a cold winter night & get away with being manic & depressive at the same time!

    ;)
