TWELVE !

Very First Fresh Tracks - the perks of being a patroller!
View of 1000 Peaks.
Wednesday, November 22, 2006.

There's over 75cm of snow at Panorama's summit!

Another 9cm fell through Wednesday night and there's more in the forecast.

This is just below the summit of the ski run for which I named my blog.
It's snowing right now in the valley, too!

For me, I'll be wrapped up like the michelin man - you know, lots of nice rubber tyres...mmmmm rubber...sexy?? He he, I don't think so..lol

  5. Gypsy, you'll get snow down your boots...

    Val, you'll never get stopped...

The pearls will be stunning, tho.

  6. What a view, Dale! Although it is missing something ... what it really needs is a a rolling Gypsy whose nakedness is embellished only by a fine pair of Vince Noir boots and a string of lustrous pearls. Yes, that's it - perfect. Ski patrols would be so much more interesting, and anyway hypothermia is for wimps.

    Have fun!!!

  7. *angry grumbling* It's all melted away here!

Still, this is lowlands, I'm sure there is plenty of snow farther north, up in the mountains (or fells/arctic hills).

  8. ... here we are again - skiing naked...

  9. Looks beautiful and reminds me of my time in the mountains. Did you make it up to Lake Louise on the week-end? What a great week-end it was for Canadians too!

  10. How's the snow today then, Patrolman Dale? Eleven to go ;-)

  11. I'll be hauling you up the mountain when you come out for Christmas, Lesley!

I just found out that I have all of Christmas week off, so we can spend lots of time at the hill... if you so wish!

    You will love The View.

  12. It snowed six inches over the last twenty-four hours down here in the valley, Vally...

  13. And no, I didn't make it to Louise...

We saved money and stayed home to watch the World Cup from the warm comfort of our couch.

    YAY for our Canadian boys!
... Manny Osborne-Paradis is from Invermere.

  14. From Invermere? That's just around the corner!
(Can't say much more about it)
Maybe I shouldn't go skiing, but just use the camera to capture all these pearls and boots and what else not...

  16. Nice picture, Dale. How are you all holding up from the bad weather? I hope things are fine for you.

It was ridiculously balmy here for days, and 14C today. This is November? Bring it on, I say.

  17. Yeah, it was warm here. I was sitting out on my balcony with the cats after I came home from work. Very strange!

Yeah Dale ... I'm so happy you have time off. I can't wait to see the view of 1000 peaks. Just hope these rubber legs hold up!

  18. Going to be 36 degrees C here on Thursday Dale. That's around 102 degrees F. I'll be thinking longingly of your snow ...

  19. The weather here is fabulous!

Lots of snow... maybe a wee bit cold, but c'est la vie.

It's only about minus 20 degrees...

Not like Vancouver which has ground to a halt because it actually snowed there and is below zero... wimps!

  20. It's absurdly warm here at the moment. Yesterday, there was a guy here from Toledo, Ohio and he thought he'd got on the wrong plane. It's really unbelievably mild....about 15 degrees.

    Minus 20, hey? Hmmmmmmm ;-)

  21. Dale,

We're going up to 16 tomorrow and 18 on Thursday. Is this country nuts or what?

  23. It's weirdly hot around these parts... I may have to dig out the sandals again.

I put some party pics up!

  24. And so our journey begins
To the wilderness where the wolf is king
And the whip crack and the huskies back sets you loose
    To the Mighty Boosh

  25. Its the nothing-ness
    The whiteness
    The endless-ness
    Stretching on beyond human imagination
    Desolation of the soul
    OH MY GOD

Ice flow - nowhere to go
Ice flow - nowhere to go
Lost in the blinding whiteness of the tundra ...
    the mighty boosh

  29. Hey Dale (yes I'm going thru a metamorphosis)

What should I think of to pack? Yes there's still some time yet, however, like someone else in our family - I'm a planner.

Getting excited for next Monday when I go see the WHO.
