Phew...

Well, this is the life!

I am home alone with my stereo - a wee bit of Angus, some Zep and Pete... my glass is not empty - yet.

George and the girls are out on the lake in our boat.

Bob is out on the same lake in a different boat.

All is calm on the home front... well, until a great song kicks in!

I believe this is a well-deserved glass of wine, if I do say so myself.

The oven is beginning to emanate a rich aroma from the prime rib roast, the Yorkshire pudding pans are ready to go (Gypsy) and all that's left to do are the potatoes for mashing and the red wine gravy.

This has to be the life...

Thanks again to all for your kindness and support over the last week.

I love you all!

  5. And we LOVE you Dale!! Thanks for the visit in my chat today (well technically yesterday lol) Your dinner sounds delish! It is too bad it is too late for me to make something to eat. A Roast would be heaven!

  7. You absolutely deserve the glass of wine! Hell, you deserve a whole bottle (now, now...)

I can relate about how it feels being on your own and doing your thing. It's the best feeling in the world isn't it? And much needed at these crazy times.

Had fun chatting with you last night.

  8. Dale,
It sounds like you found the cure for what ailed you all week. Glad you managed to sneak in some quality down time.

  9. Thanks PTfan, you're a sweetie, too!

Gypsy - yes the COD charges were out of this world - had to raid Angus' pockets.
It - the yorky I mean - rose to the occasion just fine!
That full, bloated feeling is still with me. Yech. I won't have to eat for a week now!

Lace - I see you have discovered our warped & mad world! We are the female version of Delbut/Neil.

Chick - yes there were some very good songs in the shuffle - one of my favourites "The Razors Edge" was among them. It's got a bit of a spooky edge to it - not typical AC/DC. And of course, every song on Pete's album is great.

Molly - thanks for the chat! I had tons of fun & I love it when it gets silly! It made up for not being able to watch ITA.

Marietta - no no, only 4 glasses over the evening. Oh, wait that's about one full bottle anyway! Hee Hee.

Anne-Marie - it was definitely quality me time & very theraputic.

I'm off to make lunches, prepare Bobby's lessons for today, get Jenny's school planner filled in, wake kids up, get Beth prepared for her Math exam - aka waking up a teenager, make breakfast & get everyone out the door before 8:00 a.m.
...oh & get me ready for work, too!

...and feed the cat - he's meowing, rubbing around my legs & just plain sucking up to me.

    :)

  14. Dale you inspire me, you really do. I am facing some trials now myself and your spirit makes me know I can do this! It truly is amazing how our real lives can be so f*cked up at times yet we hang in there and trudge on. I honestly believe that it is places like this and other various boards that allow us to do so and keep at least a bit of our sanity. Glad to hear things are looking up!

  19. Hi Dale,
Thanks for the positive words on my blog. Flight to Europe is late on Friday July 7th, so about 10 days to go and my to-do list in still huge....

Two more days of teachers' dirty looks and then, to quote Roger, I'm freeeee!

    Cheers,
    AM

  22. Lace - we're interchangeable... I have a knack for multiple personalities, or so it seems. Just ask Angus...

  23. Sue - thanks & I sometimes wonder where or when it'll all end, but I have a feeling I'd rather just live it all, the good & the bad!

  25. Dale, my love, have left a comment on your last post, but let me join the others to say this glass of vino collapso is well deserved, and I hope you have one on me too. Just finished reading the Da Vinci Code, and the pic reminds me of chalices, grails and such...not that a glass of wine is the same thing, of course, but, well... it ties in somewhat with your own quest ...in my mind anyway...shut up Val, Dale knows what you mean
    Love you too, dear one..xxx
