SWIM

It is blistering hot!

The seats in the van are melting.
The trees are gasping for air.
The dogs are panting in the shade, hoping to sink into the cool earth.
The mountains are veiled in a humid haze.

And the pavement is lying in wait for anyone who dares...

We have just arrived home from a walk to the beach where we spent a couple of hours floating neck deep several yards from shore.

And I am now sitting here covered in deliciously cool goosebumps!

  1. Wow, Dale, that is one beautiful photo. Nothing beats a swim in the lake, right? I'm so glad you had a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by. I have a feeling we crossed each other. I put up my favourite year-end gift on my blog. It's what all the cool chicks in France are sporting these days!

    Cheers,

  3. Wow! What a beautiful lake and surroundings! Here where I live, the landscape is more or less completely flat... If you find a pile of boulders or a hill of moraine exceeding 10 m. in height, people will call it a mountain... :)

  4. It has been 2,000 degrees and humid, here!

You may find it interesting to go to my blog archive, and see my guitar...it is very much a 1972 Gibson SG, and an Angus type sound...though I do not know his music, I bought it back in '78, and still keep it as my only.

    Peace,

  5. Over here it's been raining, and raining, and raining, and...you get the picture. The humidity has not been nice to my hair!

  6. Anne-Marie - the lake is so nice to have within a 5 minute walk from our front door!

Lionel - I forget what the verification word was - something like rockslip, I think. You're not dense - I'm odd...

Hans - the scenery in your photos still rivals ours for beauty!

Dan - ha ha Angus' music? It's more of a sound... a rather loud sound...

PTfan - I do love the rain, too. We don't have the humidity like you do, but I like what the damp does to my hair. Here it tends to go straight & limp...

  7. Hi Dale,

*siiggghhh....* A walk on the beach sounds just great right about now. It's sweltering here too today...and SO humid. I think my toes were sweating on the bus ride home. *L*

Take your time with my posts - I know they're long, and not everyone gets the time to read them. Thank you for reading, though, and I hope you get a chance to finish them....
