  2. I sat up last evening with a bottle of wine & Neil Young's new DVD A Heart of Gold...

I love Neil Young... "I've been to Hollywood, I've been to Redwood, I've been a miner for a heart of gold"...

I looked, but couldn't find Wuthering Heights... I'll have to simply read the book.

I was having angst about my 15 year old who was trying to grow up too quickly again...

  3. Hi Dale. I came over to take a look at your peeks! Short of locking her in the cupboard, i have little advice, sorry. Or send her over here and let me put her to work.

  4. Hi Dale,
Sorry that you're going through hell. I know how young people can be so stubborn. I may not be a teenager anymore, but I'm still stubborn. I don't know how my parents put up with me.

  6. Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
    There's more to the picture
    Than meets the eye.
    Hey hey, my my.

Out of the blue and into the black
You pay for this, but they give you that
And once you're gone, you can't come back
When you're out of the blue and into the black.

The king is gone but he's not forgotten
Is this the story of Johnny Rotten?
It's better to burn out 'cause rust never sleeps
The king is gone but he's not forgotten.

    Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
    There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye. ...my fave neil young track...

  7. Now I get it! Sorry, been out visiting my twenty something daughter. Living proof that hell is not eternal, Dale!

I remember when it seemed like it though...a nice bottle of wine and a great DVD are the only solace sometimes

They all want to grow up too fast...if only they knew. Hang in there, Dale. The highway to hell makes a u-turn at some point!

  8. Delbut - I'll crate her up & pay the freight... LOL - I would miss her though.

Chick - I'm a good 20 years older than you & still stubborn as a mule...she comes by it honestly!

Bobsgirl - same old same old, but a bit worse this time...

Hashby1 - it took a couple of reads for me to figure out what you're saying. I think I've got it...

    Gypsy - there's a free man loose
    Back outta jail
    And chasing some flooze...
    Back luck has changed
    Broken the chains...
...Goodbye & good riddance to bad luck.

Val - so I'm not destined for eternal damnation - thank goodness!
...but I have another wee redhead on the way to teendom...yikes!
    Lookin' for that U-turn! LOL

    :)

  10. Oh Dale, don't even start the countdown for your other teen to be yet!!! One at a time! I remember me and my mom used to battle it out constantly. We're fine now. In fact, she is here right now visiting with us. It will get better. I'm not even going to give you any advice because 1) even though I have BEEN a teenager, I haven't had to parent one yet. 2) You are such a great mom, what could I say? You've got all the love and balance you need.
Good job Dale. I'm proud of you. And I sympathise with you.

  11. Gypsy - dance away... hot flames licking at your ankles...

PTfan - wise one that you are - even if you don't have a teenager...yet.
You're right... one day at a time.
Some days are just better than others!

  12. Aha..red alert!..lol..are they both redheads Dale?..if so you have my sympathy! Momo used to be a copperhead with a temper to match! We used to have some rare old slanging matches...but I nearly always ended up laughing cos I couldn't take the stamping feet and spouting tears seriously..Made her even more mad with me..;-)

  13. Ha Ha Sindy!

    Red alert...LOL

Jenny is the redhead & Beth is a brunette...
Bobby has blonde hair, so we pretty well have one of each.

I just want to be the best mum that I can be, so my kids grow up happy, healthy & well adjusted.

I struggle with it because sometimes I make mistakes, but I guess I'm only human, after all...

    :)

  14. oops, see I used sin's id again..wish she'd keep her paws off my laptop!

Anyway, Dale, we all struggle with the terrible teens, both living through them and living with them..;-)..and we all make mistakes,...but I believe strongly that if you just love them enough, everything comes right in the end.. and all the head buttings are forgiven and forgotten xx

  15. its true what val says ..me and chantal have had out moments but we are as close as close can be...in a way getting your kids through tough times ...the arguing..and fighting...can in the end make you closer and more understanding of each other..

  16. hear hear gypsy...i just love my crab and my scorpion...lol...one has a good bite and the other can sure sting, but we've been through so much together...us three against the rest of the world..with me being a bull, that makes quite a team!

You'll win through Dale, and knowing you, your kids will love you even more when they've resumed normal life forms again...;-)

  17. oh val i have a scorpian too..chantal does at times have a sting in her tail..

  18. Go bulls go!!!! I dig that, bobsgirl, a three year old that runs the show...he he

But...Gypsy and B'girl, in my experience these scorps are ultra loyal to those they love, not so??

  20. Hi Dale,
Sorry to read that your daughter is giving you grief again. Growing pains seem to be for the whole family, not just the teen in question.
Weren't you just a sweetheart for mentioning me on Rachel's blog? as it turned out tonight, I did meet her, as well as Mikey. Both were just lovely.

I hope you're on your way to a good night- I know it's still crazy early for you, although I need to hit the hay. Hopefully the ear ringing will stop soon. Great Who night, lots of up close Pete shows, man he is just gorgeous eye candy.

    Cheers,
    AM

  22. Hello & Thanks You Guys - you are all correct... I often question myself.

I don't get angry very often, but I did this time.
    Very pissed off.

Thanks for the words of hope & wisdom - we will get through this.

  23. BTW I'm Aquarius... I guess I'm capable of being very creative - but not right now.

It's an Air Sign, to boot... but I am holding my breath...

Hopefully tomorrow I will be doing my "happy dance"... ;)
