Just Us

This was the blaze the volunteer fire department started for practice.

They burnt down an old farmhouse down the block from us.

  3. Angel - the fireworks were amazing! For a small town, they are of world class quality - they get better every year!

Gypsy - the house was hot, alright! I could feel the heat from where I was standing & there wasn't a mountie in sight...

PTfan - TV's right side up - Jenny just loves to prop herself in a corner any which way...

  4. Happy Canada Day, my dear!

I threw some lemon juice at the computer screen and fixed my ghostly blog just now. ????? Actually I republished and reloaded the whole thing because I had no idea why it disappeared, but it's back. :)

It's raining here so I think the fireworks are off for the beach front tonight, unfortunately. We're going to do an alternative Canada Day thing then and go to the movies. How patriotic, eh?

    Love,
    AM

  5. Gypsy, as you know, my day started out rather soggy...

I should say - as usual!

The sump pump got unplugged & our toilet, that leaks from the tank back into the pipes, kept leaking - as usual, but the pump didn't pump it out - not as usual...

Hmmm...got to get that leaky toilet fixed.

It's all dried out now, due to the hot, dry weather, but now I have to go through all the soaked boxes that were stored down there.
    ...tomorrow.

Other than that my day has been fab.
We watched the parade & had fun yelling at all the floats - in this small town we know everyone!
Like the fire works, the parade gets better every year!

Then I hit the Farmer's Market for supplies for dinner - company is here for the long weekend.

I had a big nap on the couch this afternoon - as I didn't get to bed until close to 3:00 a.m. & was up at 7:30 a.m....
    The nap was fab, too.

Now everyone is out in the boat & I'm having a glass of wine listening to the stereo... all alone!!!

I could get altogether too used to this!

  6. Hi Dale,
I added Gordon Lightfoot, Barenaked Ladies, Moxy Fruvous, Tom Cochrane, and Blue Rodeo to my Canada list. It was your mention of April Wine that triggered the memory that I went to high school with Lightfoot's kids.

  7. would you agree to enter it at my blog with a sentence rlating to it?

That would be the idea - to have a whole bunch of them...in one spot!

  8. this is not a wine for drinking this is a wine for laying down and avoiding!...sounds like it all went well apart from a soggy netty...a well earned stolen moment for you..here the mood changed from one of party atmosphere to mouring as england got kicked out of the world cup...next door neighbour unceromoniously stormed outside and ripped the red cross from his white van in protest...bad sport he was...i personaly dont care i only take a peek to see if any player is fit ...what ever team is playing...cant stand sport on the whole..enjoy the rest of your weekend...

  12. Oh Dale, I laughed so much seeing the picture of Jen, because my Mo used to do that too. She'd screw herself up into the wierdest positions to watch TV, and then tell me she was comfortable...it's lovely to see your little Jenny doing it too..love it! The other pics are fabulous too..the scenery around you is so incredibly beautiful..fancy swapping for a while? xx
