"CLEMENTINE"

This is our Christmas tree!

My nine-year old son christened her "Clementine".
My kids had a go and decorated the dear thing...
Oh, we so love the Christmas Season!!

That is my fifteen-year old daughter lying on the couch beside the tree - watching TV.

Our house is very small and has an open area concept, which is good. If we had walls, it would appear even smaller!

If you look closely near the top right hand corner of the photo, there is a sketch of Pete Townshend that I did a couple of years ago. Below it is a sketch of Keith Moon. I am quite proud of the drawings.
I wish I had more time for my artwork...

People chuckle about the fact that I have portraits of "The Who" on the same wall as the school portraits of my children!
It has to be that way, due to the lack of wall space...

That's my excuse anyway.

  1. Wow! I was just about to ask, "Is that Pete I spy? And Keith right beneath him?" But you already answered my question. And I was about to comment on the fact that your family is fine with you having Who portraits on teh same wall as family portraits. That's cool! From what I can see, they are lovely drawings! Very nice!

It's very cute that your tree has a name.

  4. Oh Dale, Dale, Dale,

You tease me so with your pictures of the Rockies. I actually lived in Fort Collins for quite a few years. Hung out a lot in Estes Park at the Stanley Hotel.

Thank you for your more than kind comments.

So nice of you to drop by and chat. It moves a little fast for the best of us. Smile. We are all getting together for the Christmas special on Saturday around 4:30 pm eastern time. Stop by if you have a chance.

Excellent drawings! Clementine is a fine tree also.

Sunrise! You tease me so much. You should be ashamed. Hahaha. Not really.

Enjoy the slopes. Skiing that is. What a fantastic back yard you have. Booo Hooo!!!

Thanks for sharing all of this with me. You are a special blogger.

Do you have real player on your computer. That is what it takes to listen to my tunes. I put up a link for you to the free Real player basic on my blog. You will need to download it to hear my music.

Peace, love and light to you and yours.

  9. Hello Dale,

What a very pretty tree! I wish I could make ours look as good. We have a plastic one that has seen better days.
As for your pictures of Pete and Keith? I know what you mean about wall space. My wife has only let me put up one picture of Pete. Still, it is 8ft x 6ft !

  10. Hi Dale,

The print of Pete we have is of him sat on a bed in front of a wall of smashed guitars. Looks to be 1966ish?. I rescued it from an old derelict building in Leeds (just next to the Uni) that was due to be demolished. The print has been professional mounted onto hardboard.
I did a lot of research in order to find out what it could have been used for.
A guy from pt.com forum wrote to me. He said that in about 68/69 The Who had 4 massive black & prints made of each member of the band. The prints got to be displayed at the entrances to their UK gigs during this period. The guy actually went to the gig at Leeds and when I sent him a photocopy of the print he immediately recognized it as 1 of the 4 that had been at the entrance to the gig that night.
I wonder what happened to the other 3 ?
